Learn everything about the island of Samothraki
Samothraki is an island that perfectly combines mountain and sea, relaxation and tranquility. It is located in the northeast Aegean Sea, 24 nautical miles from Alexandroupoli and it occupies an area of 178 square kilometers. Samothraki is the homonymous municipality and belongs administratively to the Regional Section of Evros. According to the census of 2011 its population is 2.840 residents. It is connected with Alexandroupoli with ferry boats and it is worldwide famous for its statue of Niki, which is housed in the Louvre in Paris.
